Senior Year Planning Calendar

Read the Planning for College handbook distributed in March (peach cover) with registration materials.
  Please submit the following forms to your counselor ASAP.

  1. Cut the Beyond High School form off of the back cover of the Planning for College handbook, complete both sides and turn in to the Student Services Office for your counselor. 
  2. Complete the Student Brag Sheet and email to your counselor. 
  3. Ask a parent/guardian to complete a Parent Brag Sheet and email it to your counselor.
  4. Complete an Activity List and/or Resume and submit to your counselor.
  5. Complete two Teacher Recommendation Requests and give to the two teachers who can best speak about you to colleges.

 COLLEGE PLANNING AND ADMISSION TEST INFORMATION

Most four-year colleges will ask applicants to submit scores from one of these tests:

 Two-year colleges in North Carolina administer placement tests and do not require the SAT or ACT.  ACCESS (www.act.org/asset/index.html) is their paper and pencil test and COMPASS (www.act.org/compass/) is their computerized test.  A study guide for the COMPASS is available in the Guidance Office.  See the Durham Tech (www.durhamtech.edu) website for details about taking these tests.
