Mission Statement

The mission of Jordan High School is to provide students with the opportunity to explore a body of knowledge; to develop academic, physical and social skills; and to practice thinking and decision-making processes in an open and orderly environment.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Provide a safe, orderly, clean and healthy environment at JHS.
  • Promote positive relationships with the student body, parents, and JHS staff through consistent communication.
  • Provide avenues of communication to inform parents of school rules and DPS policies.
  • Maintain a high quality staff through quality observations, feedback and hiring policies.
  • Ensure teachers adhere to all school and DPS policies.

TEACHERS

  • Grade assignments, tests and quizzes in a timely manner.
  • Present a well planned, rigorous and engaging variety of activities in lessons aligned with Standard Course of Study.
  • Use a variety of assessments to determine student achievement.
  • Communicate student progress systematically to parents, teacher and administrators.
  • Post classroom rules and consistently enforce all classroom, school and DPS policies.
  • Model professionalism in all areas of the job. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure best-practice instruction.
  • Support student needs for tutoring and making up assignments.

STUDENTS

  • Arrive on time and attend every class.
  • Respect self, other students, JHS personnel and property and school rules.
  • Endeavor to become a life-long learner.
  • Strive to be academically successful.
  • Engage in extracurricular activities.

PARENTS

  • Ensure your son/daughter is on time and is prepared for school every day.
  • Foster consistent communication with teachers and administration.
  • Become a member of the PTSA and support school activities.
  • Regularly review student homework and assignments to support academic success.
  • Support JHS and DPS policies.
  • Provide updated student demographic information to the school in a timely manner.
  • Attend Open House and parent oriented meetings.
